Naturluxe & Stars At Watkins Glen - A New Stop For Glamping In New York State

The newest addition to the many delights of the Finger Lakes region upstate New York is “Naturluxe & Stars” — a glamping resort, that its website describes as, “a luxury resort experience that respectfully coexists with the natural environment around it.”

The resort is located next to the main gate of Watkins Glen International Raceway (read, NASCAR), less than a five-minute drive to Watkins Glen State Park and the Village of Watkins Glen. There are great views of the Seneca Lake valley.

Spread over acres, Naturluxe & Stars comprises luxurious tents, kitted out with comfortable mattresses, down pillows and bed linen and blankets. Other creature comfort includes robes and towels, battery pack, power strips, mosquito nets and luggage storage racks.

The tents are made of cotton canvas with zippered vinyl floors — the platform tents are raised on wooden platforms — to keep out the crawlies.

In addition to accommodation, the resort offers a variety of distractions such as outdoor games, personal yoga mats, and gourmet picnic baskets. Also, guided hiking tours, boating excursions, and fishing charters.

Campfire pits are located throughout the resort and their description of the bathrooms areas is most comforting. Naturluxe & Stars offers concierge-style services for luggage, reservations and such.

Glamping is for the squeamish many among us who want to experience the rugged outdoors from the comfort of a luxury suite and not on damp ground, where bugs are a reality and not a forgettable nightmare.

Watkins Glen and the region of Finger Lakes in New York state offers much by way of things to do. Located in Schuyler County, on the southern shore of Seneca Lake, the area is renowned for dining, wineries, breweries, distilleries and of course, the scenery.
