Seven Farmers Markets in Westchester that are still open this summer

Fresh seasonal produce is what summer is all about. Visiting a farmers market is a great opportunity to support local businesses. Many farmers offer pre-orders, drive-through, and slots to shop by appointment, to keep with safety norms. (And they might have a request should you visit - don’t touch the produce.)

Here’s a list of markets open in the Westchester area.

Pleasantville Farmers Market

About 50 vendors  feature organic produce including cheese, honey, sweets and baked goods. This market is open through the year to get seasonal produce. Open on Saturday’s from 8:30am to 1pm.

Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow (The TaSH)

Open and even offering curbside pick-up, this farmers market is known for goat cheese feta, local wine, meat, fish and more. They are open on Saturdays from 8:30am to 1:30p with the  first hour (8:30am  to 9:30am) open only for senior citizens and at-risk (immunocompromised) customers.

Irvington Farmers Market

Close to Tarrytown and Irvington, this farmers market specializes in all things made and produced in Hudson Valley. Since it is only open for drive through you can interact with vendors through your window and pick up your favourite mushrooms or cold-pressed juices. Open on Sundays from 9am to 1pm.

Hastings Outdoor Farmers Market

With views of the river, this farmers market rocks the whole Hudson Valley vibe. Yelp reviewers attest to the pickles, brined goods and olives at this market. Open on Saturdays from 8:30am to 1pm but the first hour is dedicated to frontline workers, senior citizens and at-risk individuals.

Rye’s Down to Earth Farmers Market

This farmers market is open and Sundays and all the produce is locally grown. Open for pre-orders to get the best of sauces, seasoning, pantry items, baked goods and more in the area. Open Sundays from 8:30am to 2pm.

John Jay Homestead Farmers Market

This market is open by appointment only, so make sure you register before you head out. They also have picnic tables in the shade for after shopping for coffee, breads, jams, and more. Open on Saturday from 10am to 2pm.

Muscoot Farm

The farm also offers hiking and camping aside from the farmers market which makes it a nice outing with the kids, though they are open only through appointment. There are over 20 local vendors. Open on Sundays from 10am to 2pm.
