Each winter the Cascade XC center hosts a full moon celebration for each full moon cycle – 3 in total. The trails are lit for a night of cross country skiing and snowshoeing with pit stops for bonfires, hot dogs, beer kegs, live music and a good time! View one of the most spectacular displays of ice artistry at the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival (Saranac Lake, NY; Feb 3-12). Each winter, the Adirondack town of Saranac Lake hosts the longest running winter carnival in New York. This winter event is home to The Ice Palace, a large, magnificent ice castle designed and built by locals. The family-friendly celebration spans 10 days and features firework displays, parades, games, exhibits, concerts, and more.

Skate your way to family-friendly fun at the annual Syracuse Winterfest (Syracuse, NY; Feb 16-26). This upstate winter festival takes place from downtown Syracuse to areas throughout Onondaga County.
