Queens World Film Festival
Turning nine, Queens World Film Festival is set to return to the Museum of the Moving Image and the Zukor Screening Room at Kaufman Astoria Studios. From March 21 to 31, 2019 experience over 200 exciting, topical, bold, and entertaining features and shorts including narratives, documentaries, LGBTQ and animated films. Queens World Film Festival is dedicated to creating worthwhile experiences for participating filmmakers and guests with some signature elements: dynamic thematic programming, hosted screening events, engaging talk-backs, relevant networking opportunities and maximum access to filmmakers. The roster includes international premiers, special events, parties and special guests.
The program contains thematic blocks, grouping films together to create specific impact rather than running a full schedule of films one after the other. Each block has its own theme, a host and targeted marketing so that you can build communities around each block as its own event. Block categories include Opening Night Worldly Vision: a taste of what’s to come; Unearthed: spooky tales that dig a little deeper; It Gets Better: 6 films with messages of hope for the LGBTQ+ youth, and many more!
