You’re transformed into an engineer, a geologist and even an electron, at the New York Power Authority’s newly updated Niagara Power Vista, just minutes from Niagara Falls at the Niagara Power Project in Lewiston.
USA Today named us a “Top 10 in Niagara.”
This exciting interactive adventure for inquisitive minds of all ages offers multimedia displays and exhibits, a 4D simulated ride and much more. Learn about hydropower and the role it played on the Niagara Frontier, both historically and today.
We also offer educational and entertaining family activities.
Power Up! 4D simulated ride — Take a virtual roller coaster ride as a drop of rain passes through the Niagara Power Project and spins around a turbine that turns it into electricity
Erosion in Motion — Touchscreen monitors ask visitors to stack layers of geologic strata to create conditions that result in a waterfall – and conditions perfect for generating power
Build-a-Dam — Use touchscreen stations to choose the optimal site to build a power dam and then construct a system that spins the turbines as fast as possible without overwhelming and destroying the dam and power plant
Spectacular Views — From our indoor/outdoor observation deck, 350 feet above the Niagara River, see beautiful stretches of the picturesque Niagara River Gorge
The fun doesn’t end when you leave. Your photos, scores and experiences are stored on your personalized RFID card — like the ones used at theme parks and rock concerts —for you to access when you’ve returned home.
