Businesses have been hit and will appreciate the tiny bump they get every time you decide to shop local. There are many handmade artisans in the Adirondacks, the famous maple syrup being only one of the many businesses of the region. There are chocolatiers, like Adirondack Chocolates in Lake Placid, to handmade potters like Cherri Cross at Jay Craft Center in Jay, and even leather shops like The Leather Artisan in Childwold.
