2022 History at Noon Lecture Series

The Thousand Islands Museum, the Clayton Historian, the Clayton Opera House, and the Clayton Sesquicentennial Historical Committee are pleased to bring the popular History at Noon lecture series to the Clayton Opera House in 2022.

Presentations will be held at 12 Noon at the Clayton Opera House, 3rd Floor.

January 12th:

Clayton by Rail, by Adirondack Railroad Engineer Larry Girard.

February 9th:

Birth and Origin of the St. Lawrence Skiff, by ABM Curator Matt Macvittie

March 9th:

History of the Clayton Opera House, by Opera House Director Julie Garnsey.

April 13th:

Fishing and Fishing Guides, by members of the Fishing Guide Association.

May 11th:

75th Anniversary of Reinman’s Department Store, by the Reinman Family.

June 8th:

135th Anniversary Clayton Fire Dept, by members of the Clayton Fire Dept.

July 13th:

Mysterious Origins of T.I. Dressing, by Eric Roberts and Andrea Reeves.

August 10th:

Frink’s Snow-Plow Factory, by Carl Reinman, Grandson of Carl Frink.

September 14th:

Grindstone influences on Clayton, by Grindstone Heritage Center Board.

October 12th:

Depauville influences on Clayton, by the Depauville Free Library Board.

November 9th:

70th Anniversary Hawn Memorial Library, by board members and staff.

December 14th:

Naming of Clayton Village Streets, by the Clayton Historian Tom LaClair

Recommended admission is a $5.00 donation or non-perishable food item that will go to an area food pantry.

2022 Hashing Over History Program Series

The Thousand Islands Museum, Clayton Historian, and the Clayton Sesquicentennial Historical Committee is pleased to bring you the popular Hashing over History program January – March 2022.

With the 150th Anniversary of the incorporation of Clayton on April 17th, 1872, we have invited citizens of our community to share memories and experiences from their earlier years in and around Clayton.

Each of the programs will be held at 10am, lasting about an hour, at the Clayton Opera House 3rd Floor.
