Adventure Series at Allegany State Park - American Kestrels in Your Back Yard

During the summer months we put our bird feeders away and lose our connection with birds. On Wednesday, May 9th, 2018, the Environmental Education Department will show a PowerPoint on the secret lives of the American Kestrel, nesting in one of our naturalist’s back yard. See what goes on inside a nest box as the nestlings grow and prepare to fledge the box. We will discuss how placing a nest box in your back yard can be a good introduction to summer birdwatching around your home.

This free event takes place at the Quaker Bathhouse on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018 starting at 6:30 p.m. The Outdoor Adventure Series is a great way to learn about fun activities to do in Allegany State Park- Western New York’s Playground. Check our Facebook page for more Outdoor Adventure Series programs coming up in 2018. For more information please contact the Environmental Education/ Recreation Department at 716-354-9101 ext. 236 or [email protected]
