Chadakoin River Walks; Explore Jamestown's Wild Side
Join RTPI President Twan Leenders and other area naturalists on a walk through the Chadakoin River outlet forest to discover birds, turtles, wildflowers, and other surprising flora and fauna that calls Jamestown home. Enjoy the Chadakoin River Walk system’s newest asset, a mile-long easily walkable and bikeable path along the river, in the company of expert nature guides. Join us to explore the city’s biological diversity that once inspired one of the world’s greatest naturalists, Roger Tory Peterson, learn about ongoing environmental conservation and education efforts, and be amazed!
All walks will take place on the new Riverwalk bike path, from 9:00-10:00am. Start at the Riverwalk parking area on W 8th Street, adjacent to the Resource Center & opposite McCrae Point park.
Wear comfortable shoes, make sure to dress appropriately for the weather conditions, and bring your binoculars - if you have them. If not, we will make sure to have some loaners available.
