Forest Lawn's Civil War Trolley Tour

The 269-acre Forest Lawn Cemetery is one of Buffalo’s most fascinating attractions and the final resting place of many well-known personages and Civil War soldiers. On June 18, Forest Lawn’s Civil War Trolley Tours (at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.) will help visitors learn about these historic and heroic figures. A few might even “pop up” to tell their stories in person, and exhibits will display Civil War memorabilia and highlight the region’s involvement in World War I.

Sgt. William Hengerer, Maria Love, Mayor William Fargo and so many Civil War notables are part of our ever-popular 90 minute Civil War trolley tour.

You will visit the final resting places of noted Western New York soldiers, including African American and Confederate soldiers. And a few of them might even "pop -up" to tell their story in person! A display of Civil War memorabilia will be on display plus an exhibit that highlights WNY's involvement in World War 1 will open this weekend at the Margaret L. Wendt archive and Resource Center.
