Opening reception, Friday, July 14, 5–7 PM

Erik Schoonebeek grew up in neighboring Delhi, NY and counts his experiences at the WKC as being formative to becoming an artist and an adult. Working primarily through small-scale painting Schoonebeek aims to elevate the mundane and celebrate the surreal nature of both personal and collective human experience, creating works that have one foot firmly planted in reality and one foot decidedly dangling into the ether.
Schoonebeek is represented by Jeff Bailey Gallery in Hudson, NY and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
