All tasters at the Wing Fest have to try from 6 or more different restaurants in order to vote for a winner. When the clock strikes 3:30 p.m., the event will hold a ceremony for two awards to be given away: People’s Choice Award and Judge’s Choice award. This year, there are 24 competing restaurants. Bullpen Tavern and 190 Grille have the titles from last year – will they keep them? Other fan favorites participating this year will include The Chicken Shack, Dizzy Chicken Wood Fried Rotisserie, Davidson’s Brothers and more. Lake George Premium Brand will be suppling water for those who have a taste for hot wings!
The event will also feature live music by The Sound Factory in City Park’s bandstand as well as entertainment on the street from The Lounge Lizards and Phil Camp. Tasting tickets for the event are $1 per ticket, although the number of tickets needed to taste vary by restaurant. This year, the event will also have t-shirts featuring Henrietta, the chicken depicted on the winner’s trophy. The shirts come free with a $20 donation to the Arts Trail, a new downtown project in Glens Falls. Donations can be made at Samantha’s Café at 193 Glen Street downtown. Guests who buy a shirt before the day of the event will receive 10 free tickets to be used for wings at the festival.
