In its 27th year, The Hudson Valley Hot-Air Balloon Festival 2018 will see participation from balloonists from all over the country. The festival is now located in Rhinebeck, NY at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds with activities for July 6, 7 & 8, 2018.
The festival's history has evolved into a Hudson Valley tradition and has grown into a full weekend of activities, drawing tens thousands of visitors from all over the world.
Some of the festival favorites are the evening Majestic Hot-Air Balloon Illumination Moon Glow, tether rides, and rides in the hot-air balloons throughout the weekend! In addition to 100 balloon launches scheduled annually, we will offer helicopter rides, hayrides, games, live music, adult and children's activities and so much more.
Afternoon launches at the Hudson Valley Hot-Air Balloon Festival are at 6 p.m. Fri. & Sat., and mornings at 6 a.m. on Sat. & Sun. The Festival runs Fri., 4-9:30 p.m.; Sat., 5 a.m. gates open; it’s free for morning launches until 10 a.m.; fee charged 12-9:30 p.m. In addition to 100 balloon launches planned, enjoy 80 vendors with family fun activities, food & craft beverages, and live music; see schedule. See a Moon Glow Fri. & Sat. nights. Saturday tickets are $10/advance, $13/gate, and $23 weekend passes. Save with advance tickets.
All day, try a Tethered Hot-Air Balloon Ride for $20 (cash-only at fest). Some balloon rides available by advance purchase only. Take a chopper ride from Independent Helicopters as part of your Hudson Valley Hot-Air Balloon Festival experience.
Parking: There is free parking and lighted parking lots for up to 15,000 cars, Handicapped parking is available: Follow the signs to the south east lot closest to Main Gate #1. A parking attendant is on duty to provide assistance.
Note: Outside food and beverages will not be allowed at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. There will be plenty of food trucks, food and retail vendors, concessions, a Craft Tap Tent, tastings, and more available for purchase! Bags are subject to search.
