Kip Coerper moved to Skaneateles in 2010. He is Choirmaster at St. James’ Episcopal Church, where his wife, Becky, is Rector. In addition, he is a founding Board member of the LPM Program (Leadership Program for Musicians in Small Churches) in Central New York. Kip is also Music Director of the MasterWorks Chorale of CNY – a 70 voice singing group. In addition teaches piano and voice. After graduating from the College of Wooster in Ohio with a Bachelor of Music degree (majoring in organ and choral conducting), he spent 20 years as a high school choral music teacher and served as Organist/Choirmaster in several churches. During those years he studied at Westminster Choir College, the Hartt School of Music, and Catholic University of America. He has received the Service Playing and Choirmaster Certificates from the American Guild of Organists. Kip has also been bass soloist for major choral works. He has studied choral conducting with Joe Miller and James Jordan at Westminster Choir College. Along with musical endeavors, Kip keeps busy volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. He has taken six trips to El Salvador to work with Habitat, and he regularly volunteers with Cayuga County Habitat, where he is co-president and volunteer coordinator. Donations for this program will support Cayuga County Habitat For Humanity
