Share the Love of Schubert! You are invited to join the Tribeca Chamber Players at 2 PM on Sunday, April 3rd in the Great Hall of the Manhattan Youth Downtown Community Center for a FREE presentation of the String Quintet in C Major by Franz Schubert. Share the love as we explore this incredibly beautiful work with you, one of the last compositions Schubert finished before his untimely demise in 1828 at age 31. The quintet, scored for two cellos, two violins and a viola, was mostly forgotten for more than two decades; the first performance occurred in 1850 and the score finally was published in 1853. Since then, the Quintet has earned a spot in the canon of great and beloved music, and the Tribeca Chamber Players wish to show you why. For more information about the program, please click here.
