, New York City | Arts & Culture

Magnigicent Mushrooms at Pfeiffer Nature Center: Mushrooms are a variety of fungi that produce a fleshy fruiting body & when most of us think of a mushroom, we picture a white, umbrella-shaped cap that rests precariously on a thick, grey stalk. Mushrooms, however, come in many different shapes, sizes and colors. Not only are they beautiful to observe, they play a fundamental role for life on earth. Garrett Taylor (photo credit also), mushroom enthusiast, will be leading us on a hike through the woods of the Lillibridge Preserve to share interesting tidbits about the many different species of fungus that we have amongus.
