One Way Paddle from Anable Basin to Hallets Cove

Queens , New York City | Lifestyle , Outdoors , Sport & Games

This is a moderately easy FREE outing suitable for adults with little or no paddling experience. All participants must be 18 or over and able to swim wearing a PFD. Actual time on the water will be about 60 minutes.

This trip is available to request through our Request a Trip page from a few weeks prior through end of day (midnight) two days prior to the trip. Note that marking yourself as "Going" on FB does not claim a spot for you.

Confirmation emails will be sent 24-48 hours before the trip. In the event that the number of requested spots exceeds the number available, participants will be selected by lottery. The most active helpful volunteers have priority.

If it is necessary to cancel the trip due to dangerous weather or poor water quality, notifications will be emailed an hour or more before meet-up time.

Wear clothing and footwear that can get wet, and a hat, sunblock or other suitable protection from the sun. Bring a windbreaker and water or other non-alcoholic beverage. Do not bring bulky items or anything that cannot go with you in a kayak. Wallets, phones or other electronic devices should be placed in waterproof bags.

This trip ends on the Hallets Cove beach just north of Socrates Sculpture Park. Participants are encouraged to stay and help as LICCB Volunteers at our free public walk-up paddling program. Volunteering is fun, easy and rewarding -- no experience necessary!

There is no charge for this event. Contributions enable LICCB to continue to offer public paddling programs and are gratefully accepted.
