It's the most wonderful time of the year! Spring is here and the Prospect Park Alliance wants you to join in to celebrate the beginning of the season in Prospect Park. Opening Weekend celebrations begin early with a parade at 7th Avenue & 2nd Street led by local marching bands and civic leaders. Celebrations include the start of the baseball and softball seasons, the first Smorgasburg of the season - with over 100 local and regional vendors offering cuisines from around the world - nature activities for families with the new Discovery Pack, and the park’s most popular attraction, the carousel. Join the Prospect Park Alliance to celebrate the beginning of spring at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, Lefferts Historic House and the Carousel. Opening Day Parade, 10–10:30 am, Saturday only Parade begins at 7th Avenue + 2nd Street, Free Join the Prospect Park Alliance and the Prospect Park Baseball Association to celebrate the start of the baseball and softball season. Over 1,000 players ages 4-18 years old will parade down 7th Avenue, led by local marching bands and civic leaders, to Field 1, where a ribbon-cutting ceremony will mark the start of the season. Celebrate the start of spring with a ride on the Park’s beloved 1912 Carousel.
