The theme for this year's floral display is Thailand—home to 1,200 species of orchid—which means a tableau of tropical color.
The 15th installment of the New York Botanical Garden’s Orchid Show features a complementary schedule of events and activities revolving around its titular flower and this year's theme: Thailand. The southeast Asian nation is home to more than 1,200 native species of this exquisite flower. The show itself will feature thousands of brilliantly colored orchids in a classic Thai garden, complete with the facade of a sala, a pavilion used for shade and relaxation. There will also be plenty of cultural happenings to go with the show, including Q&A sessions with experts, musical entertainment, lectures and guided tours.
