The Popol Vuh: Creation Myths of the Ancient Maya, with Dr. Christopher Wright

The central story of Mesoamerican mythology, featuring twins, tricks, sacrifice, and the all-important ballgame. This program will be presented via Zoom.

This session includes a fascinating, informative and amusing Great Courses class by Prof Edwin Barnhart, Director of the Maya Exploration Canter. Dr Barnhart gives a lot of information in this half-hour presentation so bring notebook and pen. After the video, the Zoom floor will be open for discussion.

Dr Christopher Wright is a photographer/artist, scholar of history of photography. He has studied history of religion especially the historical Jesus and Mesoamerican mythology.

Classics in Spirituality is a continuing program patterned on our popular Classics in Religion programs of the last six years.
