Join in for at The Museum for A Soldier’s Heart, A Sister’s Hands: Haudenosaunee Women Veterans. This exhibit is intended to honor the hundreds of Iroquois women who served in the American military from WWII to the present and who are still contributing to our communities today. Heart/Hands will celebrate the bonds that develop between those in uniform and reflect on the challenges of military service through informal photography and mixed- media portraits created by the women alone or in collaboration with their families, friends, and fellow veterans. The works will speak to their individual experiences and roles as Native, as women, and as veterans. Exhibit runs from October 8 through November 27 Read more on the exhibition here.
