Urban vs. Rural: A comparison of bird watching and landscaping- Sustainability

, New York City | Outdoors

A brilliant way to spend a family morning outdoors. Spend the morning bird watching at Ganondagan State Historic Site and planting native plant species while removing invasive species at the Pollinator Grassland while discussing the various bird species spotted. Participants will meet at the Environmental Field Office (old Visitor’s Center) at Ganondagan and need to be prepared to travel to Victor Public Library for the ‘urban’ component of the bird watching. Long pants, hiking boots or similar style close-toed shoes, and water are required. Feel free to bring your own bird books or binoculars for your personal use. Limited supplies available day of event. Register with Alexis at [email protected] Source: http://www.lifeinthefingerlakes.com Image source: http://www.ganondagan.org/
