Brooklyn Botanic Garden in Crown Heights invites you to a bean-to-bar blowout this Sunday for Wild Chocolate. Take a journey deep into the Peruvian Amazon in search of wild cacao, crack open cacao pods and get wild with DJ Ecotone.
Nate Hodge recounts his adventures in the land where cacao is thought to have originated and discusses the social and economic challenges of preserving rare and wild varieties. Then get the lowdown on the bean-to-bar chocolate-making process from one of Brooklyn’s premier chocolatiers.
Crack open cacao pods, nibble on nibs, and indulge in the newest virgin chocolate bars from Raaka and offerings from Descendant Cider. Groove to the sounds of rainforest frogs, insects, and birds, presented by DJ Ecotone. Peek at rare vintage cacao illustrations and peruse a cornucopia of chocolate cookbooks from Archestratus.
